The Poca Valley Bank is an independent, community bank which was founded beside the Pocatalico River in Walton in 1908. The Poca Valley Bank opened its first branch office in 1987 in Clendenin, Kanawha County. In the 1990s, two more Kanawha County branches were built in Elkview (1990) and Sissonville (1997).

Not long after the turn of the new century, two Putnam County branches began operating a few months apart in Poca (2000) and Winfield (2001). The banks second Roane County branch was opened in the Hays & Company Building in Spencer in 2005.

The Poca Valley Bank offers three savings accounts: PVB Statement Savings, PVB eSavings and PVB Junior Savings. The PVB Junior Savings account is only available to individuals under 18 years of age and carries no minimum balance. ATM cards are available with the PVB Junior Savings account to persons on the account age 13 or older with approval. The regular PVB Statement Savings account is designed for those over 18 years of age and requires a $50 minimum balance. Statement Savings Accounts are limited to not more than six(6) withdrawals or transfers to other accounts or any third party by means of a preauthorized transfer, automatic transfer, telephone order or computer order during any 30 day period. PVB eSavings Accounts are transactional and do not have the same withdrawal limitations.

For long-term money management, Poca Valley Bank also offers Certificate of Deposit (CD) and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA). Poca Valley Bank offers various loans to suit your needs.
