The Maries County Bank of Vienna was founded on August 7, 1900 and opened its doors on September 1, 1900, when Vienna was just 45 years old.

On March 31, 2003, The Maries County Bank merged with Belle State Bank which included Belle State Bank – Uptown, Bank of Vichy and the Community Bank of Owensville. In the summer of 2011, The Maries County Bank received approval to open a branch in St. James, known as Community Bank of St. James.
