Greensburg State Bank was established in 1924. Opening day deposits were $5,489.00 with a capital account of $25,000.00. 1944 was the bank's 20th year and that was the year that assets of the bank went over the $1,000,000.00 mark. Good crops and war times followed during the 1940's and by 1950 the assets were over $2,700,000.

An extensive remodeling project started in 1961 changed the inside and outside of the building. In 1972 the bank purchased computers and provided the customers with the most modern bookkeeping equipment available. Christmas In 1989 the bank relocated to a modern new facility with seven private offices, a board room, drive up facility, large state-of-the-art vault and spacious lobby area. The bank continues to be locally owned and still offers the personal accomodating service that comes from "hometown people" working hard to serve their "neighbors and friends."
