H.A. Barnes first chartered The First National Bank of Cold Spring under the name of State Bank of Cold Spring on May 2, 1902, with beginning assets of $11,000. Three years later the bank was renamed The First National Bank of Cold Spring and reached assets of $35,000.

In March, 2010, Gerald Reiter joined the bank as President and CEO. The assets of the bank in December, 2011, have grown to $75,000,000. Today there are currently 32 employees at Granite Community Bank, including the Rockville Branch, Mortgage Department, Cetera Investment Services and The First National Insurance Agency.
