Established in 1893, the Harmony State Bank was formed by local investors to provide financial services to the growing farming community of the Harmony area. Likewise, in 1945, just 2 days after the fourth of July, local investors formed the Canton State Bank. Both Banks have had a continued presence on the respective Main Streets of Harmony and Canton in order to ensure a critical link to the economies of their communities.

In 1987, the Jerome and Barbara Bushman family purchased First Southeast Bank of Harmony and in 1989 purchased the Canton State Bank. In 2011, the two banks merged offering a wide range of financial services throughout southeast Minnesota and northern Iowa.
