On September 5, 1911, Frank Striemer founded the Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Alpha. The Bank has survived and thrived throughout the years. Today the Bank is still owned and managed by the founder’s family. It is one of the few independent banks in the state that has been continuously owned and operated by the founder’s family.
